Astronomy

Last night we broke out the telescope to look at some stars. I was able
to get Jupiter in focus clearly with the 6mm eyepiece, giving us a 133x
magnification. We were able to see the dark bands and even the eye. We
also looked at a star cluster 22,000 light years from Earth and 160
light years across. It is definitely humbling to look at light that left
a star 22,000 years ago. It kind of puts things in perspective. I even
managed to bring the Andromeda Galaxy into my sights, though with
background light at my house it was barely visible but we were able to
make it out a little bit.

I ordered a ring to make into a camera piggyback mount so I can start
taking some photos of the night sky soon.
